MLK Day of Service - Hunger Free America (Virtual Volunteering)

The Gotham Gator Club invites local Gator Fans (Alumni and Non-Alumni family and friends) to join Hunger Free America in their efforts to verify food resources information for the USDA Hunger Hotline. Hunger Free America is a nonpartisan, national nonprofit group working to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.

In this virtual session, volunteers will receive background information, training and support to verify and update listings of food pantries, soup kitchens and SNAP/WIC offices around the country. This information is used to direct callers to resources.

Volunteers will be given unique listings to check, by calling the number and doing web-based research. Volunteers will need a computer, phone and pen and paper for the task.

Minimum Age: 13+
